Dark objects absorb more heat

The more light the object absorbs, the more heat absorbed since light is energy. If you consider it a color, black absorbs the most heat. A black object absorbs all wavelengths of light and reflects none. Objects that are white, on the other hand, reflect all wavelengths of light and therefore absorb the least heat.

• The black crome copper is used for absorbers. It collects the sun’s heat and transfers it to the water in the risers. Copper is used for the risers for its high thermal.
• conductivity ensuring the maximum amount of heat energy is passed to the water. As the water in the risers is heated, it rises into the tank to be replaced by cooler water from the tank. The solar heated water is then stored ready for use – hot water free from the sun.
• The greater the temperature differences between the fluid in the solar collector panels and the water in the tank the faster the flow between them.

Hot water rises up

Warm water, like warm air, always rises to the top because the hotter something is the more molecular action there is. More molecular action means the density becomes less and in any mixture, the less dense matter rises to the top.
